A day in a life of a UV Express Commuter

It’s a beautiful morning, naunahan mo pa nga yung alarm clock today and nakapag-breaky ka pa like a king. You’re just in time, in-fact you are ahead of it, then ‘eto na nasa terminal ka na. You’re still okay ganda ng mood and you get in line just like the usual, routine na kumbaga and halos kilala mo na rin sa mukha ang mga kasama mo sa pilahan kasi nga isa kang certified UV Express Commuter so let’s have fun by enumerating them:

  1. The Kolehiyalas – They’re the ones na most of the time nauuna sa pila and may kasama habang sinusuklay ang basa pa nilang hair and nagchi-chikahan. [Sila rin yung mahilig magpa-singit!];
  2. The DOTA Knights – Ang mga kawal na inaabot ng madaling araw sa pagdo-DOTA ang ending puyat raw sila and badtrip sa professor nilang ayaw sa late pero di naman raw nagtuturo;
  3. The Ulirang Students – Mga studyante na may hawak na libro, notes, and captured photo of their lessons at nagrereview;
  4. The Wapakels – They’re the type of uvcommuter na may nakasalpak sa tenga or just browsing their smartphones while waiting in line;
  5. The Magkumares – Walang puknat na chismisan from terminal to destination;
  6. The Lovers – Mahihiya ang honey sa sobrang kasweetan sa katawan; hawak dito,haplos doon at ang matindi nakauniform pa[I have nothing against in naman pero sana ilugar minsan kasi di na maka-upo ng maayos katabi nila.]
  7. The Pa-simples – Sila yung naninilip ng cellphone [I honestly don’t know why they are doing it] then ‘pag nahalata sabay tingin sa opposite side basta somewhere lol;
  8. The Maang-maangan– yung pasimpleng sisingit kunwari di alam kung saan ang pila[“Napakarami nila grabe!“] and;
  9. The Eye Candies – Maganda, gwapo, ma-appeal, sexy, and more. Yung klase ng passenger na you’ll like to seat beside with, yung di nakakasawang titigan at mukhang mabango haha.

Wait ayan na gumalaw na ang pila. Too bad puno na yung FX, (2) dalawa sa front seat, (4) apat sa middle, and (6) anim… yes tama (6) six sa likuran, sorry sa susunod na lang na van or fx.  After 5-10 minutes ayan may uvexpress na, kasya (17) seventeen passengers, yung ibang naunang sumakay itututok na ang swing ng aircon sa kanila sabay yuko ready to sleep na and dahil nga (4) four per row di maiiwasan maipit at ma-numb ang braso mo pero carry lang basta di late diba?

Yes umaandar na, ilang minutes lang heto na ngayon traffic na pero hello what else is new diba? Welcome to the Philippines, mag-iisip ka na lang ng reasons not to ruin the day lalo na nakatabi mo naman one of the Eye Candies lol. Suot ka na lang headset and take a power nap just like the “Wapakels”. Kaso biglang nag-break, nagising ka and na-alimpungatan, you were in shock kasi parang ilang dipa lang ang minove ng van. Now that’s unusual so kahit masikip pipilitin mong abutin yung cellphone inside your pocket to inform your boss na you’ll be late. May deadline ka pa naman, then here comes the “inis mode”, “padyak mode”, and “ismid mode” buttons ready to be pressed haha. Pero kaya pa naman ng pasensya mo kasi moving pa naman kahit pa paano then suddenly biglang lumiko sa gasoline station, naku poh magpapa-gas-up pa si Kuyang driver :(. Ang ending pati grace period di mo na maaabutan pero come to think of it tomorrow is a new day bawi ka na lang ganoon talaga eh UV Express Commuter ka.

It was a long day in the office, dahil late ka kanina nahiya ka naman “humonda” [honda: on the dot] meaning OTY na naman ito. Then after that lakad ka pa-terminal this time pauwi na, ok medyo mahaba na ang pila kasi nga medyo late ka na nag-out, pero eto na “inis mode” button was pressed! Why? Kasi heto na yung mga  passenger na close kay kuyang dispatcher na mauuna pa sa’yo kasi raw nakapagbayad na sila noong umaga pa… May ganoon ba talaga? Prepaid? Anyway wala ka namang magawa kasi ayaw mo ng eskandalo haha. So ilalabas mo na lang phone mo and maglalaro ng “Piano Tiles”, “CoC”, “Candy Crush” or anything that will help you kill the time while waiting in line buti na lang you got your powerbank with you kasi matagal ang hintayan pag di ka on-time umuwi from work, mas mahal mag-taxi eh tsaka di pa naman payday ngayon, and at the end of the day you have lots of things to be thankful for kaya don’t worry parating na yung iba pang van ng uv express service na-traffic lang haha. Ganyan talaga ang buhay ng isang UV Express Commuter, ang saya!
